Snack/Dismissal

Hi Families!
We will have a snack break in the morning each day. Please send in a snack (peanut free) and a drink for your child on the first day. Please also make sure you send in a specific note if your child won't be going home the way they regularly would. Lastly, please make sure your child knows how they are getting home on Tuesday. The children can get very anxious on the first day! Thank you!

Welcome to the 2012-2013 school year! SUPPLIES!

Here are the supplies that your First Grader will need this year!

Keep in mind that some of these supplies will need to be replenished throughout the year. I no longer have desks so the students will have cubbies for their own personal pencil box or bag. Each table group will also have community supplies (crayons and pencils) that they are able to use should they run out of their own. You do not need to purchase any folders at this time as each child will be given a special (and important) O.W.L. Binder. A specific post about the OWL Binders will be available on the blog next week with more information.

1 backpack that can easily fit their 1/2 inch OWL binder (non-rolling please)

1 plastic pencil box or 1 zippered pencil pouch. This should fit just about all of their writing utensil supplies and glue sticks.

crayons (Twistables are EXCELLENT for our art work)

1 highlighter

2 glue sticks

*markers or colored pencils are also an option (Though we won't use markers as much as crayons.)

For ease on the first day of school, please have all of these items already out of their packaging and into the one pencil box or bag that you have for your child. THANK YOU! Any questions, please feel free to email me!
