Sneak Peek at our Classroom!

I hope you enjoyed seeing some of our classroom. A special place where your First Grader will be working hard all year! Also, don't forget to answer the poll at the top of my blog!

Snack/Lunch

Hi again!
First of all, thanks to those of you that had a chance to send a quick email! I appreciate it. I can't wait to meet all 22 of my students and families! We are going to have an amazing year.

I wanted to touch base now through the blog about snack and lunch. I will send home more information on paper the first day, but for those of you that like to be prepared (like myself) and have your first First Grader at NMES, I figured I would also use this as a resource for you.

We will have a morning snack around 10:10 each day. Please send one healthy, peanut free snack along with a drink. If your child would like to purchase a snack milk, please send in 50 cents. Exact change is important as I won't have time to make change in the mornings.

We eat lunch at 11:30. Please send a lunch along with a drink. Your child can have peanut butter for lunch time only (there are designated tables for children with peanut allergies in the cafeteria). If your child would like to bring lunch but purchase a milk, he or she can do so (50 cents). If your child would like to purchase school lunch, please send in $2.00 and that will cover lunch and a milk. Please put any money in a sandwich bag and label it with your child's name for the first day. The OWL binders will have a plastic pouch for money for the days going forward. :)

Any questions, please feel free to send an email!

Welcome First Graders!

Hi Families!
Welcome to my classroom blog. I am so excited to welcome a new group of First Graders on September 3. I can't wait to meet them all, as well as all of you! I try to update this blog at least once or twice a week. If you would like, you can become  a "follower" of the blog and you will receive emails when I update with a new post. I look forward to hearing from you! If you have a chance, feel free to send me an email to say hello! jmorgan@plymouth.k12.ma.us

Supplies:
Below are some supplies that you might want to get your child. Please email me with any questions!
*You do not need to purchase any folders at this time as each child will be given a special (and important) O.W.L. Binder. There will be a post with detailed information about these OWL Binders on the blog in the next few days.
*1 backpack that can easily fit a 1/2 inch binder (non-rolling please)

*1 plastic pencil box

*pencils

*crayons (Twistables are great!)

*1 highlighter

*glue sticks (2 or 3 to start)

*markers or colored pencils are also an option (Though we won't use markers as much as crayons.)

Keep in mind that some of these supplies will need to be replenished throughout the year. Each table group will also have community supplies (crayons, pencils, scissors, glue) that they are able to use should they run out of their own.
